Major Release: PostPickr integrates with Google+!

This year we are going to celebrate a very special Easter. We have finally received a long-awaited gift, the acknowledgment of the commitment and the dedication of these years.

In the crown of social networks integrated wth Postpickr we can mount the missing jewel par excellence. Of course it is not the hottest ever, but it is the most requested by our community of users.

PostPickr integrates with Google+!

With the 7th release of 2018 all our users, including the Free Plan subscribers, will be able to publish content on their Google+ Personal Profiles and Pages!

After posting our last public call, right in the moment when hope was being replaced by resignation, the long-awaited communication channel with Google opened up.

This time the activation times were shorter than the waiting times. After taking in charge our request, only 72 hours passed before Google accepted and granted us access to the API platform and its related documentation!

In spite of the difficulties and the long time we spent waiting, we cannot but thank Google publicly and especially our many PostPickr users who supported our campaign. A warm thank you to all of you, we could have never made it without you!

How to Schedule and Publish on G+ Profiles and Pages

Last but not the least, the Google+ icon joins the window of channels to be connected to your Projects:

You will be asked to choose the Google account that manages the profiles and the pages you want to connect and then let PostPickr manage them for you.

After granting the necessary authorization, you will be able to choose the channels to be connected among those being in the list and managed by your account:

Now you are ready to create, schedule and publish your content also on Google+, in combination with the other social channels listed in the Post Editor:

At the moment it is possible to attach links, single images and videos. But, because of the limitations related to Google APIs it is not possible to publish multi photos posts, enter mentions and customize link previews.

How to publish in Google+ Collections

Collections are one of the most appreciated features among Google+ users and permit the published content organization based on topics and specific interests.

Collections can be shared publicly, in private or with specific groups of users. In turn, users can follow specific Collections and filter the content appearing in the stream Home more precisely. Besides, they can add +1, comment and share all the posts added to the Collection again.

Such a useful and interesting feature could have not left us indifferent. The conceptual similarity with PostPickr Series is clear and unchallengeable, so the integration of this feature seemed practically… unavoidable! :-)

If you open the menu of the Advanced Settings of your G+ channels you can save the content in a specific Collection of your Profile, or alternatively in a Collection of your Page ( which can be synchronised with its related Schedule in Postpickr):

As in the case of Linkedin photogalleries, we proudly highlight the exclusivity of this feature, that is currently available only in PostPickr. In fact, big players like Hoootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, Agora Pulse and Sendible do not offer anything similar to their customers so far.

How to format G+ posts with MarkDown

With regard to advanced options, it is possible to take advantage of another feature by Google+: formatting posts with MarkDown syntax.

Markdown formatting is a feature that PostPickr users have found useful in managing their Telegram channel. Thanks to Markdown it is possible to use some font styles in your message, like bold, italic and strikethrough:

As you can see, MarkDown syntax is very easy to use. Here’s an example:

Yup, great, but… is Google+ still alive?

If you are not one of those (many) users who have repeatedly asked for an integration of G+ into Postpickr, we are sure that was the first question that occurred to you.

We tried to answer the question in this article after making some research on the field and analysing the current state of the platform, in order to understand if it is worth investing time and efforts on Google+ in 2018.

Let us know your opinion!

The Next Big Thing

Postpickr is still a little boy, but he can’t wait to grow up! As we promised during the Crowdfunding Anniversary campaign (oh, btw, welcome to our many new customers!), some new important and exclusive updates are coming.

In the meantime, follow our G+ page, in which you’ll find a Collection for the new releases:
