 Publishing Instagram Posts through Push Notifications

 

“Publishing through Push Notifications” overcomes “Auto Publishing” functional limitations and allows you to use all the native features of Instagram official app.

A push notification will be sent on your device when scheduling. PostPickr app mobile will send and automatically upload the scheduled content in the Instagram app, ready to be customized and published.

 

Before starting make sure:

  • you have installed PostPickr app mobile on your device;
  • you have connected one or more Instagram accounts to your Project.

 

 

Create and schedule posts

Tap Compose in the Main Menu to open the Post Editor:

  • select one of the Instagram accounts connected to the current Project
  • type the post text in the text field;
  • attach a photo or a video and wait for the upload to be completed.

Note:

 

  • you can’t upload videos longer than 60 seconds;
  • videos for IGTV are not supported;

 

Tap the blue Scheduled Posts button and select an option between to immediately publish, whether to schedule it individually or to save it in a  Series

 

 

Manage push notifications

 

When it’s time to publish your post (after few seconds if you selected “Publish Now”), PostPickr app will send you a push notification (make sure you enabled push notifications for this app):

Tap the notification badge and the PostPickr app will automatically open. The Notifications > Reminder Instagram section, with the list of your Projects scheduled (not published) contents, will be displayed:

Tap the notification to open the scheduled content, then tap Stories or Feed to send the content to the Instagram app.

On iOS, tap Publish on Instagram (the possibility to choose between Feed and Stories, will be displayed later):

A confirmation menu will appear, to make sure you’re logged into the correct Instagram account. Tap “Logins” to see the current Instagram account or just confirm the content.

 

Finalize the Publication with the Instagram App

After sending it, the content you have pre-loaded in the publish Feed or in your Stories will be opened in the Instagram app and the text will be automatically copied to your device clipboard.

 

On iOS, first will be displayed the selection screen in order to choose between Feed and Stories:

You can set the image size and apply filters to your Feed Post.

In the text window, long press to copy the text from your clipboard:

You can optionally edit the text, tag other users or add a location. When you are ready, tap Share to publish your post on Instagram.

 

If you want to publish a Story, tap the Aa icon to enter the text, then long press on the text cursor to copy the text from your clipboard:

You can use other native Instagram Stories Tools, such as stickers, surveys, mentions, animated gifts and so on. When you are ready, tap Your Story or Send to publish your post on Instagram.

 

After publishing remember to get back to PostPickr App and confirm the outcome of the procedure, in order to update the Notification section and to give the post the “Published” status:

Create an Instagram Multi-Photo Post (Carousel) on PostPickr

 

As for the other socials that support the multi-photo upload, you can create a Carousel on Instagram in a similar way.

 

Open the Post Editor and type the text of your post, then click “Upload images” and select photos or images from your device (otherwise, you can click “Free Images ” to search and import them from the Pixabay database):

Please note:

 

  • you can attach not more than 10 photos per post;
  • right now, with PostPickr it is not possible to attach videos in carousel format.

 

After completing the post, choose whether to send it immediately to the PostPickr mobile app for final publication, whether to program it individually or through a Series.

When it’s time to publish your post, you’ll receive a push notification on your device to remind you to publish your post on Instagram.

 

Click the reminder to open the PostPickr app mobile and view the notification list.  Carousel posts, unlike other formats, have a “shadow” under the preview image:

Tap the notification to open the published content. The publishing process is a little different depending on the operating system of your device.

 

Android

 

Tap “Feed” to send the content to the Instagram app:

A notice will tell you that the images attached to your post, will be saved in your device gallery:

Then, after opening the Instagram app, select “Gallery”:

Please note: you have to do this just once, next time the Gallery will be automatically displayed.

 

Tap the multiple photo icon, select the carousel items already saved in your device gallery:

Now you can finalize your post applying filters, pasting the text (that PostPikr copied in your clipboard), tagging users, locations and so on.

 

iOS

 

Tap Post on Instagram to send the content to the Instagram app:

then click Feed:

 

 

Tap the multiple photo icon, select the carousel items already saved in your device:

Add multiple photos to your Instagram Story

 

You can also create a Carousel for your Instagram Stories, meaning that you can add multiple photos to your Stories.
Select Stories, instead of Feed, and the Instagram Story Composer will open; the first photo of your carousel is preloaded ready to be finalized and published:

As for Feed carousels, the other images will be saved in your device gallery, ready to be added to the story you’ve just created:
